Historical Significance:
The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), established in June 1958, formed No. 11 Squadron in 1969. Although disbanded in 1975, the squadron was reformed in 1983 and became the first to operate supersonic fighters in Malaysia, acquiring 14 F-5E Tiger IIs. The aircraft were designated M29, with M29-12 being ex-USAF 74-1457. The squadron played a key role in training and reconnaissance operations throughout the 1980s.
