Sudocrem is an over-the-counter medicated cream aimed primarily at the treatment of nappy rash. It contains a water-repellent base; protective and emollient agents; antibacterial and antifungal agents; and a weak anesthetic. As well as nappy rash, it can also be used to treat eczema, bedsores, minor burns, surface wounds, sunburn, and chilblains. It was manufactured by pharmaceutical company Forest Laboratories Europe up until July 2014 when the company was acquired by, and combined with, Actavis plc. On March 17, 2015, Actavis completed the acquisition of Allergan, creating a $23 billion diversified global pharmaceutical company. It is pronounced Soo-Doh-CREM, although in Ireland it is popularly pronounced Soo-Doh-CREM. In Belgium, the product is sold under the brand "Dermocrem". The Netherlands was the first country Sudocrem was sold in outside Ireland and the UK. / Ingredients: Zinc oxide Ph .Eur. 15.25 %, Benzyl Alcohol B.P. 0.39 %, Benzyl Benzoate B.P. 1.01%, Benzyl Cinnamate 0.15%, Lanoline(Hypo Allergenic) 4%(W/W).Also contains: Purified Water, Liquid Paraffin, Paraffin wax, Beeswax, Microcrystalline wax, Sodium Benzoate, Linalyl Acetate, Propylene Glycol, Citric Acid, Butylated Hydroxyanisole, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Lavender fragrance. / Apply a thin layer as required. If symptoms persist or if accidently swallowed seek medical help. Do not use if hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the ingredients. Keep out of the eyes, nose and mouth.
